WHAT SHOULD BE THE REAL PURPOSE OF POLITICS?
For a lehman, politics is a dirty game isn’t it? The
declining values in politics and the detoriating work culture has raised
several questions on the ethics of the polity. It sometimes seems all those who
come to politics come either for the sake of power or for some other lust. To
talk about ethics and morality in the political system seems just like fantas.
Gone are the days were politics was the launching pad for service to country.
Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Chandrasekhar, Tilak, Patel, Aurobindo, Bipin Chandra pal, Lala Lajpat Rai and several
other pious and truthful leaders made politics a stage for the pious and
selfless souls. They showed that politics meant giving blood for Mother India and
not sucking her blood like a leech. Its high time to give the charge of democracy
to such leaders who are genuinely interested in the welfare of the country and
disprove the statement that politics is a dirty game. There should be no space
of sycophancy in politics. Its like a
termite which would eat away the very sanctity of politics. The politics needs
to undergo a metamorphosis from the SUNSET PHASE to the SUNRISE PHASE. Lets take Bihar from sunset to sunrise phase
of politics. We must hope for the best as there is always a tomorrow and the
scope for improvement.
